A typical Franchise negotiation takes from 3 months to just over 1 Year to finalize! That gives cable operators a forum to delay consumer choice and increase costs for new competitors like Verizon. At this rate you can understand why it is taking a long time for you to get in on the fun. Your local government and Cable companies are bringing out the big guns in your city to try and squeeze all the juice out of these deals before you can play.
Yes big brother tries to see if this new companies getting into the video business can also finance the new dog park by the lake, the new little league baseball field, the new street car train in the historic district and oh aye…. City Hall could use that new computerized, state-of-the-art, heated, constantly disinfected, graffiti-resistant, remotely monitored, well-lit, landscaped, wheelchair-accessible, ornamental-iron-and-brick-adorned automatic toilet. You know, we may not have the Statue of Liberty, white sand beaches or Big Ben, but we……….
I just wonder who pays for it.
Back to my point, if you want to know if FiOS has arrived in your hood, just click on the Map to get the scoop or Click on one of the state Links Below to read articles, reviews, and comments by your fellow citizens about FiOS in your state or City. Alternatively, if you see a giant golden King Kong statue that no one cares about, causing traffic jams and accidents at the corner of 1st and Main Street, it is a darn good sign FiOS has arrived. And Oh…, about the golden Crapper down city hall? You are paying for it.
